I was reading a blog site, and came across this Tournament – Best Video Game Ever.

Among some of the worthy candidates are Super Mario Bros., Contra, Tecmo Bowl, and Donkey Kong.  But what is interesting, just like during March Madness is some of the games that are pitted against other great games.

How should I vote in Golden Eye versus Halo, this is simply too difficult for me, the countless hours I have spent on both warms my heart.  Me and CHris have nicknamed people based on the characters they would play with on Golden Eye, hence the reason Cholie’s man at the time was called the Colonel, and still to this day when we refer to him, he is called the Colonel.  Loved that game.

And Halo completely changed everything about video games for me, it was the must have and the reason I purchased the XBox when it came out.  Both allowed for sweet 4 player split screens, and great death matches.  I still believe Master Chief is one of the best characters ever in video games.

Other matchups that are too close to call.  Donkey Kong versus Frogger in the old school bracket, how does Donkey Kong draw Frogger in the first round and Pac-Man gets to battle an easy opponent like Mortal Kombat.  That’s crazy.

Duck Hunt, a game that everyone had, because it came with the NES, is battling against Tecmo Bowl, although Duck Hunt is fun, Tecmo Bowl is the shit.  Plain and simple, Bo Jackson on Tecmo Bowl was a force to behold.  And who could forget elaborate plays like these.

People may think this one is a layup, Mario 3 versus Space Invaders, but deep down in my heart I know without Space Invaders, there wouldn’t be any of these other games.  So I may vote for Space Invaders on that merit alone.

Back to the new school bracket, how about Gran Turismo 3 vs. Madden, this my friends will be a white wash, Madden hands down, it may even be the champion of the new school bracket.

And finally, NBA Jam versus Mike Tyson Punch Out.  Wow, too close to call, but I am leaning toward NBA Jam, for remembering the good times I had making this into a drinking game with CG and HotHairDresser.  I think I can still taste that last tequila shot from the blow out me and HotHairDresser sustained near the end of the run of the game’s run at the hands of CG and unnamed partner.

Ah Monday, time to recap the last few weeks.

So after IKE, things have been a little hectic.  It pushed back projects at work, including some training that I was going, which all got rescheduled the last week of September, hence the delays in postings for a while.  I was out of the office for a week, then came back in time to finish the last of some Quarter 3 Goals.  Meanwhile on the home front, the boys have been busy, well Jax has been busy with Tennis, Soccer, and Karate, Grey has been busy eating everything that is not glued down, and generally getting into everything at the house, all the while cutting some more teeth.

How about we get old school and I drop in some headlines from around the InterWebings.
